a general suggestion just came to mind. Similar to e.g. stackoverflow I think it could helpd to have some user / community rating on an answer. I imagine that this could help finding the best solution to a particular problem.

Good suggestion, @eikeschulz. This forum is powered by discourse which is open source. I’ll see if I can find any features/plugins that do what you’re asking. Also feel free to research on your own and let us know if you want to try out a specific plugin or setting.

I like this suggestion! It could result in a kind of incentive for contributing.
I think this plugin looks very much like Stack Overflow. Given the effectiveness of the Stack Overflow model, there is a strong case for installing it on the forum. Doing so will take a little sysadmin work on my end. In order to cost-effectively manage plugins, I need to migrate the site to a self-hosted virtual private server. From my perspective it is better to do this while the user count / number of media assets is small. I’ll have a go at this in the coming week, and report back.

Good to keep this in mind but no immediate action req’d. I think we should monitor the development of RSS and later revisit the question whether there is a problem to be solved, or not.
